Blended Goodness

The recipe is from the "Everyday Happy Herbivore" by Lindsay S. Nixon (pub. BenBella Books, Inc.) cookbook.  http://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Happy-Herbivore-Quick---Easy/dp/1936661381/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327366204&sr=8-1

The title is "Cinnamon Bun Smoothie".  We'll see.

Blend together until smooth all of the following:
  • 1 frozen banana (always throw the bananas that are getting long in the tooth into the freezer.  There is so much you can do with them)

  • 1 cup nondairy milk (I'm using plain rice milk)

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp pure maple syrup

One sip....wow...WOW.  This is pretty good.  I love the cold creamy goodness with the cinnamon hug at the end.  I can see how you could play around a little with it, possibly adding almond extract instead of vanilla or using almond milk or vanilla soy milk if you prefer it sweeter.  This is a keeper.

OK...here are the WW points for those that care:

The rice milk is 3 pts.

The rest of the ingredients are free (1/2 tsp pure maple syrup comes up as "0" in the tracker)

What a yummy little power boost for only 3 points.
